Director’s Message
In 2015 the world descended on Paris and agreed to establish an ambitious goal to limit average temperature rise in this century to below 2 and close to the 1.5 degrees target. Achieving this goal relies on the world reaching net-zero by 2050. Also, in April 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada would reduce emissions by 40 to 45 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. This will not only take the significant expansion of existing low-carbon technologies, but also the collaboration between researchers, government, businesses, civil society, Indigenous people, and investors to discover new and improved clean energy technologies at a rapid pace. We believe the Clean Energy Technologies Research Institute will play a key role in Canada’s and the World’s inevitable transition to a less carbon reliant and sustainable economy.
Through CETRI, we invite partnerships and collaborations. CETRI brings together researchers and experts in clean energy to offer a one-stop shop for those looking for information on alternative forms of energy and who want to collaborate to explore the potential these energy sources have here in Saskatchewan.
